I'm a 23 y.o. university student (yes, still stuck in here). I have graduated from my bachelor degree in Accounting, and currently I am undertaking a master degree in Accounting (again).
I'm a mix of Javanese-Chinese and I live in between Jakarta & Depok (Indonesia). The rest of my profile here is totally OUTDATED, so please don't bother to read them. Sorry that I am too lazy to update this section. Will do it once I have free time.
I can speak about 3 languages fluently: Indonesian, English, and Mandarin (currently still learning). If possible, I still want to expand my ability in Javanese and Japanese (notice the difference of "v" and "p"). I'm very fond of English, as it is also my favorite subject in school.
My hobbies are quite common; such as reading books, listening to music, watching movies, browsing internet, downloading albums/pictures/magazine scans... you know, things like that. I wish my hobby was extraordinary... but I think that's not my type. =P
Entertainment: I'm really into Asian (including Japanese, Korean, and Chinese), Hollywood (Western), and a bit of Bollywood (India)... I think being a nationalist is very good, but I think I can't accomplish well in that aspect. I'm proud of Indonesia, although I must say I can't stand the lure of the globalization. However, I'll try my best to preserve Indonesian culture (although I have no idea how)
I like Japanese and Korean music very much. (did I just say "hyperventilating"?) In fact, I feel like I'm addicted to them. I tend to listen to female singers, especially Ayumi Hamasaki, Namie Amuro, Koda Kumi, Meisa Kuroki, Lee Hyori. Plus most of the girl-groups that are way TOO MANY rolling around the K-pop scene that I can't mention them one by one (my favorites are After School, 4minute, 2NE1, SNSD). IMO, Abracadabra song by Brown Eyed Girls is my ultimate guilty pleasure and by far the hottest release in K-Pop.
Actually I'm not really into male singers, except for Hey! Say! JUMP, Super Junior, SHINee... (Believe me, I've tried to avoid them but I just couldn't. They are way too hypnotizing to be true.) *looks like my attempt to deny didn't really turn out to be very convincing* The other one from the J-Rock genre that takes my interest is ASIAN KUNG-FU GENERATION.
Talking about some rather underrated Japanese groups, I listen pretty much to globe, m.o.v.e, capsule, and TRF. I think their music style are unexpectedly unique. Some of their tunes are undeniably addictive. I got hooked up with them.
Having 'mastered' the J-pop scene, I'm not knowledgeable in the anime and manga division, although I like some, such as Gensomaden Saiyuki and Flame of Recca. Furthermore, I prefer novels to comics. My favorite authors are J.R.R. Tolkien, Sidney Sheldon, Remy Sylado, Eka Kurniawan.
I admit that I like mainstream music. My favorite genres are Pop, R&B, Rap, Hip-hop, and Soundtracks. Maybe the last one seems odd, but I do like instrumentals and I like collecting soundtracks, especially the mesmerizing and shooting ones such as The Lord of the Rings and The Matrix. Basically I'm open into wide range of genre, especially the catchy ones, but please don't ask me if I like dangdut. (Curious about it? You can search in Google) Don't get me wrong - I'm not trying to despise or anything.
I like watching movies and dramas. My topmost would be TLOTR, obviously... but recently I've just watched the Japanese drama serial, Kimi wa Petto (2003) starring Jun Matsumoto. It was an quite old release back in 2003, but I think that's the best drama I've watched so far. The message of the movie really gets into me. Basically I'd recommend this to everyone. Anyway, for a starter, you can watch Gokusen first, a pretty inspirational 3-season school drama.
I like art and fashion a lot, but I can't really apply it into real life. I guess it's better for me to only be an admirer. =) Some models who I admire are Lily Donaldson, Eniko Mihalik, Anja Rubik, Caroline Trentini, Bruna Tenorio, Natasha Poly, etc. etc. I adore fashion editorials which are photographed by Steven Meisel, Solve Sundsbo, Mario Testino, Mario Sorrenti, Miles Aldridge, Terry Richardson, Craig McDean, Greg Kadel, Dusan Reljin, Nick Knight, Patrick Demarchelier, Inez van Lamsweerde & Vinoodh Matadin, Sofia Sanchez & Mauro Mongiello, etc. etc. (too many to mention!)
I'm very much interested to dance: classical ballet, jazz ballet, hip-hop - any kind of artistic dance - plus one more thing, rhythmic gymnastics. I enjoy watching and observing them. I used to take ballet lessons, but I decided to quit because of the pointe shoes issue. Still, ballet is always beautiful and gorgeous for me. =)
I need a monthly dose of Provoke! Magazine. This magazine is by far the most creative and innovative one. What more, it's free! (Although I decided to subscribe it due to the limited copy in school) - well, let's just say that I indirectly promote this magazine for fun, because it's simply inevitable. NOT ANYMORE. Now any kind of free magazines will do me just fine. xD
